Meatballs
Meatballs are the best – little bite sized treasures that pack a lot of flavor. You can make meatball subs or have meatball parties where you make a bunch of different meatballs for your guests to sample and stuff themselves on.
Classic Meatballs
One of the things I love the most is to take a classic recipe and turn it into a meatball. I started with my Thanksgiving Dinner Meatballs where the goal was to get all of the flavors of a traditional Thanksgiving meal into one bite. Keep checking out my Classic Meatballs page to see the latest and greatest recipes!
Midwestern Meatballs
Just as much as I love turning classic recipes into meatballs I love turning Midwestern recipes into them too! I’ve lived in the Midwest for most of my life and we have some great dishes that are known to our area that make great meatballs!
Stuffed Meatballs
I’m also a little obsessed with stuffing meatballs. I like to challenge myself on what types of meatballs to make and also what types of fillings I can stuff them with. I feel like the options are endless! It’s probably one of the areas that has the most recipes so you should check it out!

Beef Stroganoff Meatballs
Beef Stroganoff is a staple recipe in our household, originally a Russian dish that has become a beloved comfort food around the world. Known for its creamy sauce, usually made with mushrooms, onions, and finished with sour cream, it’s a family favorite that many include in their regular dinner rotation. This hearty dish pairs perfectly with egg noodles, rice, or even mashed potatoes. It’s something that I’m asked to make regularly and it actually comes together pretty quickly. I use mushrooms in so many of my recipes so this one is right up our alley, and it’s even better in meatball form!
For a fun twist to this classic recipe, each meatball is stuffed with Swiss cheese. The combination of mushrooms and Swiss is a classic, and I love the added surprise of cheesy stuffed meatballs. The nutty flavor of the Swiss cheese melts perfectly inside, giving a delicious burst of flavor that complements the rich stroganoff sauce beautifully. You can always omit the cheese in the middle if you’re not a Swiss cheese fan, other cheeses like provolone or mozzarella would work too!
Cottage Pie Meatballs
Talk about comfort food – Cottage Pie is definitely one of the most comforting foods on the list. You can’t beat mashed potatoes and gravy – and this recipe provides a little twist on the classic in meatball form. To recreate this classic in bite-sized bits I stuff my meatballs with mashed potatoes and cover them with a quick homemade gravy filled with the traditional vegetables that are in this dish.
You can always substitute the quick homemade gravy with your favorite store bought variety to save some time. The same goes for the homemade mashed potatoes that I make for this meatball. The good news is that this recipe packs three recipes into one!
There is a secret to my mashed potato stuffed meatballs that I use in a bunch of different recipe so click on the link below to learn how to stuff your balls with mashed potato goodness.
Chicken Paprikash Meatballs
With the cold weather in Minnesota, I’ve been perfecting dishes that warm you up on a snowy day. One of my favorites is Paprikash, a traditional Hungarian dish I started making years ago. I love experimenting with new recipes that feature unique ingredients, especially those that my husband will enjoy. Paprikash is a comforting, easy-to-make dish that pairs perfectly with egg noodles or mashed potatoes, making it versatile for any meal. The nice thing is that the flavor of Hungarian paprika give this dish a little something different than your every day comfort meal.
This version features my Basic Chicken Meatball recipe that is quick to prepare and bake in the oven, which also makes cleanup a breeze. While the meatballs cook, you’ll have plenty of time to whip up the flavorful sauce and get the noodles ready for serving. It’s an easy, hearty meal that’s perfect any time of the year but especially satisfying on cold winter nights.
Beef Meatballs in a Whisky Sauce
This recipe is a go-to for potlucks and game day parties. The best part is that it uses my Basic Beef Meatball recipe, which requires just a few pantry staples, making it quick and easy to prepare. These meatballs are also perfect for travel—just toss them in a crockpot, and you’re ready to head to your next gathering with family or friends.
If you’re short on time or got a last-minute invite, this recipe is ideal. While the meatballs bake, you can quickly whip up the sauce on the stovetop and let it simmer until it’s time to coat the meatballs. It’s a unique and flavorful sauce that pairs perfectly with these simple beef meatballs.
These meatballs are the perfect appetizer, served straight from the crockpot so guests can help themselves. Just bring some toothpicks with you so folks can pick them out of the crockpot with ease. They also make delicious meatball subs or sliders for a more filling meal, offering plenty of versatility for any event.
Firecracker Pork Meatballs
I’m a sucker for spicy food and this one was a recipe that I’ve been working on for a bit. I was turned onto Firecracker type recipes after finding some recipes on Pinterest and I thought that it would make a perfect meatball. I know I’ve mentioned in other posts about how much I love buffalo sauce and buffalo chicken anything and that was a part of the inspiration for this meatball. For this recipe I think pork is a better ground meat choice because I think it holds up to the sweet buffalo sauce better than chicken.
This one falls under the easy to make meatballs and the meatballs that travel well. It’s a great meatball to serve while playing cards or dominos with your friends straight out of a crockpot or you can make a meal out of these spicy little pork balls by serving them over rice. They use my Basic Pork Meatball recipe that is a simple meatball base to throw together and the sweet and spicy sauce is a quick and simple sauce to make while your meatballs are in the oven.
